Lyzette Wanzer is a native New Yorker currently residing in San Francisco. Her flash fiction has appeared in Callaloo, Tampa Review, Pleiades, Flashquake, West Wind Review, Potomac Review,and Glossalia Flash Fiction. Other fiction appears in Journal of Experimental Fiction, Decanto Magazine (England), Aesthetica Magazine (England), International Journal on Literature and Theory, and others. Nonfiction appears in Fringe Magazine, The Ampersand Review, and Yalobusha Review. Lyzette is a contributor to The Chalk Circle: Intercultural Prizewinning Essays (Wyatt-MacKenzie, 2012). Her poems have appeared in Journal of Advanced Development, Pacific Review, and Specs: Journal of Contemporary Culture.
Lyzette has been awarded writing residencies at the Blue Mountain Center (NY), Kimmel Harding Center for the Arts (NE), and Playa (OR). She is the recipient of an Investing in Artists grant from the Center for Cultural Innovation (2012), an Individual Artist Commission grant from San Francisco Arts Commission (2013), and two Professional Development Grants from Creative Capacity Fund (2012, 2013).
