Keepsakes
This piece describes my battles with my mother from my perspective as a teen-ager and my surprise when I realized how inaccurate my judgments were. It reinforces the need for parents to verbalize their reasons for disciplining their children. Too often, we feel our parents are motivated by anger and that they have no affection for us when in reality they are trying to strengthen us for life's battles.
