two goodbyes, a welcome back, and a thank you to the great state of texas...

my late father had a real thing about texans -- couldn't stand them.
but over the past couple of days, two national treasures from the long star state have taken their leave. friday night, bill moyers broadcast his last show on pbs. then, sometime on saturday, helen wagner, who spoke the first words when as the world turns premiered in 1956, and who many fans hoped would utter the last words when the ends in september, passed away.
so it was a real comfort to see friday night lights, which is both set and shot in texas, on my dvr's recording schedule for this coming friday when it returns for is fourth, and next to final, season.
funny how things come in threes...
