I had just typed all this out two seconds ago, and then clicked the wrong thing. And deleted the whole lot!
Anyway. I'm working on a Steampunk/supernatural novel at the moment, or at least I will be when I've sorted the plot line out. But the point is, I just can't think of what to call it. It's one of these stories where I think it'll take me a while to think about what the title should be.
My graphic novel title The Heartstone Oddyssey didn't come to me until at least three months after I'd started writing it. Before then it was always called "Jack and Eliza" by the artist and I because neither of us knew what it is we should call it. BUt then of course, we were dicussing it and I seem to remember us both testing out a few names and "The Heartstone Odyssey" was the one that fitted it perfectly. I think we did nearly call it "The Heartstone Requiem" but it didn't fit and requiem means song where as odyssey means a journey. So it fits the story well. :)
And then of course, there's the times that I just know what to call the stories instantly. A Scottish Gardener for example (which I'm going to post soon) At first it was a working title but again, it seemed to fit the story from the word go and I've stuck to it!
Someone once told me that The Heartstone Odyssey was my baby, and although I completely agree with that, I really hope that when I do have a proper baby he/she isn't going to be hard to name!
