where the writers are

Influences

I am influenced by flowers, trees, birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish, spiders, insects, crustaceans, mollusks, wind, rain, snow, sun, clouds, volcanoes, oceans, beaches, mountains, deserts, meadows, rocks, the moon, stars, planets, music, cities, family, friends, strangers and, of course, other writers. My literary influences include a vast array of poets, fiction and nonfiction writers, and playwrights, including, in fact, every writer I've ever read, even the ones I haven't liked, because they have shown me how not to write.
