If there´s something I´ll never understand, but think it´s really cute, is the obssession my husband and my son have about soccer. They talk about it as if it were something really, really important, like the-world-depends-on-it important. And I keep looking at them and try to figure out which player was sold to which team in which continent. Then I give up and leave them to themselves, to their father and son world.
In fact I think that is exactly what soccer is about to them. It´s a world where they can enjoy each other´s company. More than a real interest in what´s going on in the fields, they´re interested in spending time together.
That´s the beauty of sports. Competitive? Yes. But more than that, they´re a way of learning about life and spending time with a loved one. Especially for guys, who usually find it so difficult to talk and express their feelings.
Long live soccer!
P.S. Is there anybody interested in hiring the Brazilian coach, Dunga? C´mon, we need some help...
