I just got a new book published: Back To Work She Goes. Same small press as last book. Yes, I'm grateful. I'm also very busy now because there is no PR department to send out press releases, no book tour (unless I pay for it myself) and ...you get the idea. There is just me.
When promoting a book, I have been advised by a publishing pro to write articles/essays about whatever -- topic doesn't have to apply to book -- and let the author bio at the end sell the new novel.
Getting harder to even have those essays/articles published. Found an piece about a screenwriter's "beat sheet" on Slate to share with you for having more well organized essays/articles that can help sell more pieces.
Good luck. Keep writing.
