Some writers just have to ruin it for the rest of us.
The link at the bottom is an article that talks about authors who not only were lucky enough to get offered book contracts, but got big advances to boot. THEN they didn't even turn in their material. AND they kept the money.
They've got to be kidding.
When I think of all the authors out there who would do anything to get published; to have their words out there in print; who, like me, would go with a small publisher who offers no money up front, just to be a published author, I have to wonder what the publishing industry is thinking when they dole out the "prize" of a contract to people who don't even appreciate it enough to hand the work in on time or at all.

Frustrating, isn't it?
I write all the time, and I have the Writer's Butt to prove it. I keep meaning to get published but I just love writing, editing and publishing. It seems odd that someone has been paid but won't deliver. Of course, in the fabrication case, that's a whole different story - actually, it's probably another book deal.
Thanks for posting. Cheers
