PR.com is a website you must check out if you want some FREE publicity for your book or yourself or whatever project you've got up your sleeve.
Craft a press release, upload it on the site (after you sign up for the BASIC package that is free) and they blast it out to the media sources you choose.
I heard about it from another writer who got a production company to give her a deal to make her book into a movie.
I did it the other day hoping for the same results.
