I never thought I'd have something in common with a supermodel, but...
According to today's New York Post "Page Six" item, Paulina Porizkova -- supermodel, actress, author, Dancing with the Stars contestant (she got kicked off), America's Next Top Model judge (she got fired), mother and wife of Ric Ocasek of The Cars -- said that her last book failed to sell and that she couldn't get on The View no matter how much she begged.
She also said that D-list celebs -- one of whom she considers herself -- are forced to get fat or addicted to drugs to get on VH-1 reality TV. She has taken up knitting and yelling at morning TV.
Just as so many suspect that Hilary is having a good laugh at how she is still married and Tipper is in splitsville, one would assume that a non-celeb writer such as myself is howling that a model-turned-author bombed out, but no.
I can't say I feel sorry for her -- she had a good run at the top -- but I do feel it's time I got off the "If you're a celebrity you get published and promoted unlike the rest of us" soapbox.
Paulina, you have proved me wrong.
