where the writers are

Influences

Besides my family, my Southern upbringing and the other usual suspects like life and loss, influences (the good ones, anyways) are Rosamunde Pilcher, Anne Lamott, Rebecca Wells, Janet Evanovich and Fannie Flagg.  Oh, Fannie Flagg just gets me in every. single. book.  Would love to say that I am strong and not taken on a ride by her, but I laugh and cry within the pages of every. single. book. she writes.  Sigh. And Jennifer Weiner. Goodness!  To write as fluidly as a fish swimming through water like she does, would be a dream.

In non-fiction, I love again, Anne Lamott and also Brennan Manning, and some of the snippets I've read of Ann Voskamp, I've loved.  And Rob Bell just puts everything I believe about life and God into a new perspective, so I would say his work is an influence too.
