Lisa Marie Basile is a published writer and poet who focuses on culture and magic realism.
Her book, "A Decent Voodoo," will be released by Cervena Barva Press. She is founder of Caper Literary Journal. Her work has been featured in several magazines, newspapers, online publications (more information here) and found in online literary journals, including Word Riot, Poets & Artists Magazine, CommonLine, Feile-Festa, The Foundling Review, Melusine, The Medulla Review, Vox Poetica, Moon Milk Review and Aphros Literary Journal, among others. Most recently, she was the featured fiction writer in The View From Here Magazine.
She has attained several 1st and 2nd place writing awards from Pace University's annual writing contest, which you can view here.
She is currently working on a series of vignettes and poems about Mesilla, New Mexico and maintains a collection of creative writing at The Sun Killed Him. She adores Cesar Vallejo, Jorge Louis Borges, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Albert Camus and Christine Korfhage.
