Lisa C. Harper's Biography

Lisa Catherine Harper is the author of A Double Life, Discovering Motherhood.
She grew up in New Jersey and attended Princeton University. After a few years of traveling and working internationally as a writer and peace activist, she attended the University of California, Davis for graduate study in creative writing and American and Women's literature at the University of California, Davis.
Although her academic writing has appeared in scholarly journals and anthologies, she's largely said goodbye to all that and now writes nonfiction for a general audience. Her work has appeared in Literary Mama, Gastronomica, Lost, and is forthcoming in Mama, PhD and Educating Taste: Food, Drink and Conoisseur Culture.
She has taught fiction and nonfiction writing at UC Davis, California State University, and the University of San Francisco. She has been on the faculty of the MFA program at the University of San Francisco since 2000.
