I am a social/cultural anthropologist and fiction writer. To me, fiction can be more meaningful and 'real' than a mere retelling of facts because it adds a very human dimension. I like telling stories about real things with a hint of fiction to make the point more clear and interesting. I am from Denmark but I have spent a lot of time in the US and Vietnam which is also reflected in my writing. All three countries feel like home to me and my writing is a way to bridge the distance between them.
Milan Kundera, Virginia Woolf, Steen Steensen Blicher, Karen Blixen, Hans Kirk, Bao Ninh
My stories are about people in social or emotional crisis and how the crisis can make them wiser and transform them. So all of my stories are about people's struggle and hope for a better life, and often about love.
