I can’t help myself. I have started five books and I can’t put any of them down.
Whew, I just finished a Marcia Muller mystery so I have two books in each hand and can put down the one that was balanced on my stomach. In my left hand are two that I am working on finishing because they are hard to get through. One is an Elmore Leonard where every page I am braced for more stupid violence but my husband says he is brilliant so I will finish it. The other is a re-read of Bear Attacks by Stephen Herrero as I find myself defending bears often and it has been 10 years since I read this one. Lotta blood in that left hand.
In my right hand I have a self-published classic that I really love, signed by the author. I keep giving my copies away, but this one I will hold on to. It’s called “Tracker” by Joel Hardin and should have been picked up by a major publisher. The stories are true, edge of the seat thrillers. I worry that it won’t be available for all my tracking students in the future. I also have “The Lost Grizzlies” by Rick Bass. Bass is a highly entertaining author and his descriptions of camping with author Doug Peacock are precious.
Good case for a kindle you say. . . well, maybe but just remember that if someone shoots at you and you are reading a kindle you are a goner. If someone shoots at you and you have four books to block the bullet you might just get bruised is all. Why would I think of that? Must be that danged Elmore Leonard book!
