In the second Ellie Foreman mystery, A PICTURE OF GUILT, Chicago based videographer Ellie comes across some outtakes from a production that could keep Johnnie Santoro, an alleged murderer, from a life behind bars. The problem is that the tape showing Santoro’s innocence is compromised with radio interference. In addition, someone -- Ellie doesn’t know who—doesn’t want the information about Santoro to go public and is killing people to keep it from happening.
Ellie is dogged by both the FBI and the Outfit as she tries to figure out who and what she’s dealing with. She also has problems with her teen-age daughter, Rachel, and life with her significant other isn’t going smoothly, either. These issues, however, revert to the background in an explosive, chilling climax that will leave readers thinking about the book long after they’ve finished reading.
