TAKE YOUR IDEA X 3

"Think of your original idea. Can you offer this product in a range of colors (preferably three)? Or three different versions of the same product.? Or, maybe at three different price points. ?

Creating a product line means that you are creating a bigger visual at store level. One lonely product sitting on the shelf can be overlooked in four and a half seconds.

A group of products create an instant billboard and has much more visual impact at store level."

Excerpts from “The Caboodles Blueprint”

So here I am following the blueprint.    How can I create three different products from the one book.     The marketplace has already provided the answer to this one.

ONE– the Paperback.. (70-80% of the market at present- depending on what articles you read)

TWO– the eBook download – (15-20% of the market and growing in leaps and bounds due to the Kindle and the Nook tablets and the cheaper alternative to a hard copy.  (research indicates that eBooks for YA/Children saw an almost 233 percent increase in the past year.. )

THREE – The audio Book 8% and growing– a new generation trend.. due to mobile computing – i.e.the iphone, smartphone of laptop portability.. no longer grandma’s arm chair favorite.

Of course there is the hard cover option – but I have preferred to go with the three lowest price points.. to introduce my product.

The retail shelf is still an important location for my book – but with the growth of the eBook market and the huge increase of products being purchased on line (fewer than 30% - but estimated to be more than 75% in the coming years)  - adding an on-line presence is crucial.

The comfort of reading and holding a book in your hands and then lovingly adding it to your book collection in your bookcase.. may be a memory of the past..   so, to prepare for the future, I am adding another retail shelf  with the help of my publisher – my content media/social media shelf.

Expanding your product into a product line is crucial in order to reach your total consumer base. Expanding your product into a product line also enables you to expand your marketing presence.

So, no matter what your idea is - expand it....  I have often found that my best selling product is not the original product idea I came up with.. but, rather an hybrid of my original concept.

Follow the Blueprint…
