Wallow in it
“Failure is an event, never a person.”
Allow yourself time to feel sorry for yourself. Cry, mope, moan, hide under the blankets, eat bucket loads of Haagen-Dazs, spend days or weeks in your PJs, watch every tear jerking movie you can find on the TV and don’t answer your phone.
Allow yourself to feel the pain.. the anger.. the loss… be selfish.
You may have lost your job, your home or your fortune along with your pride – but you have not lost your strength and you can never lose your creativity.
Remember it takes time for a wound to heal. Be your own best friend (you are probably not feeling sociable anyway).
This is your time. Spoil yourself.
Walk and Breathe
After you have released as much self loathing and self blaming as you possibly can do then put on a pair of sweat pants ,comfy T-shirt and walking shoes and walk. Everyday walk… walk .. walk…. For the next few days.. weeks....months… walk.
Breathe in the fresh air… don’t think… don’t try to understand anything… just walk and breathe. Clear your mind.
Let the oxygen do the work. Your brain uses 20% of the total oxygen in your body and excessive stress alters brain cells, brain function and brain structure.
You need clean air, deep breaths and a healthy mind – remember your mind needs to empty itself in order to begin a new creative journey.
Dare to look
“Facing your fears robs them of their power”
When you are ready “dare to look” What is your situation? Know it is just a situation – nothing more.. nothing less..
Whether or not you think that you created the situation or it was caused by outside influences.. it doesn’t matter… It has happened and you have been dealt the hand of adversity.
However…Life is an ever evolving cycle of time. And you have weathered the face of adversity and survived its cruel cold blast.
Being at the bottom of a life’s cycle is inevitable - Take a firm grip and grab hold of the hand of time and rejoice now in its upward pull.
Enjoy the ride of inspiration and motivation
“When the creative impulse sweeps over you, grab it. You grab it and honor it and use it, because momentum is a rare gift.”
Don’t bother with looking back at the problem. The cause.. the pain… But see the opportunity that you are in. There is nothing better than being at the birth of a new existence. Keep looking up.

Bask in your new Success
“Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.”
Success is "Oh so Sweet" when it comes after facing adversity. So dance the happiness dance. Sing the celebration song. And share your joy.
