Well, now I’ve gone and done it. My first experience self-publishing an e-book on Amazon has been so successful [The Leadership Secrets of Squirrels, now going toe-to-toe with Colin Powell’s ebook on leadership, much to the delight of my ink-and-paper agent] that I’ve decided to post a novel universally rejected by agents as either “too commercial” or “too experimental.” The way I figure it, what do I have to lose? I can either leave it sitting in a drawer or throw it into the ether and see what might become of it. And with royalties of 70 percent, there will at least be some pocket change, maybe even some folding money.
