"What was a misstep that you (or your publisher) made with publishing your first book--and how would you do things differently if you could?"
I mentioned this as a little side note in my first blog: One of the big mistakes I made was not keeping any of the first editions of my first little book. I never thought that my first book would come to much. Who does, right? I mean, it was just a small book of poems. I had no idea my little book, Looking to the East with Western Eyes, would reach the #10 best-seller spot in non-fiction in our area. The first printing quickly sold out, and I did not keep copies for myself. Later, I saw copies of the first printing selling for over $100 on amazon.com! To make matters worse, someone bought them. People are still selling copies of later printings for $63. The book is now in its 4th printing.
