The Moment I Took A Moment: I’d done my share of blog tours – ones I’d set up for myself, ones publishers had set up for me. With two new books coming out in the next few months – the fifth book in The Sisters 8 series and The Education of Bet – I was determined to try something different. That’s when I devised The One-Question Interview Blog Tour. I put out the call on Twitter and elsewhere, looking for sites to host me. Here’s what I proposed: At each stop, the interviewer would ask me a single question. It could be about one of the two new books I had coming out, about any of my other books, about writing, about publishing, or anything else they could think of. The only hitch was that I would not answer the same question twice. What was in it for me? I’d have some fun and get exposure without becoming bored answering the same stock questions over and over again. What was in it for the bloggers? They’d get an easy post containing fresh content no one else had and hopefully they’d have fun too. Between the end of May and the beginning of August, I appeared on 60 different blogs answering 60 different questions. Did I sell any books as a result? Who knows? But I did wind up having a lot of fun which is always preferable to doing promotion that is zero fun.
