When writing memoir, please do not include every last inconsequential detail under the misguided notion of “But that’s how it really happened!”; for example, when writing a travel memoir, unless something truly out of the ordinary happens at the tollbooth – like, say, what happens to Sonny in the tollbooth scene in The Godfather – we do not need to see you stop to pay a toll.
