California Writers Club (CWC) South Bay Branch
2008 East of Eden Writers Conference, An Extraordinary Event
Let’s hear another round of well-deserved applause for Edie Matthews, Kelly Harrison and all the other members of CWC South Bay Branch who made the recent East of Eden Writers Conference in Salinas, California, a success. What an honor it was for me to serve as a participant in their engaging and inspirational program.
Workshops covered a wide variety of topics including “Workshop your Opening Pages” and “Dialogue that Delivers.” Night owl sessions offered additional selections, such as an agent’s panel and “Ask the Detective.” I found opportunities for social networking at the Gala Dinner and Steinbeck House Sunday Brunch. What an exhilarating experience!
If you’re a writer and missed East of Eden this year, don’t despair. In October, 2009, the San Francisco/Peninsula Branch of CWC will hold the Jack London Writers Conference. I’ll post details when they become available. See below for a slide show (with audio) link from the 2008 East of Eden Writers Conference.
