In November I participated in National Novel Writing month, or NaNoWriMo. And guess what? I actually finished. For those that don't know NaNoWriMo is a challenge to write a 50,000 word manuscript in one month. I think I ended up topping out at somewhere between 51, and 52 thousand, and finished before the month was up.
The myths, and stories related to Camelot have always appealed to me, and oddly enough so have vampires. For my novel I decided to mix the two by making Guenivere a somewhat reluctant vampire living in modern times. After living her life mostly in the shadows, Merlin develops a daily cure for vampirsm and gives Guenivere a 2-year supply of it. That's where my story begins.
I'd like to describe it as a supernatural fantasy. Guenivere meets, and falls in love with a human Arthur, whose family is supposed to be like the ruling family of Camelot. I'm right now in the process of editing, and rewriting and my ambition is to publish it electronically, I think through Smashwords. I'll be posting excerpts as I work for opinions and feedback.
All I ask is that you be gentle and balanced in your critscim; it's my first novel.
