After over fifty years of voracious reading, I began to excrete fiction. One novel is ready to query and more are simmering. A few short stories are on the Web, as is some of the fan-fiction I wrote for practice or loosening-up exercises.
My preferred reading genres were fantasy and science fiction, with forays into mystery and adventure. Because I have always been fascinated by prehistory, most of my work is set in the late Ice Age. I admit to having been somewhat of a fan of Jean Auel. An adverse reaction to her style launched me headlong into writing, first with parodies and then my own (rather humorous) view of our ancestors. No depiction of "primitive" life in the old stone age has ever satisfied me, so I created my own prehistoric setting for a character who wouldn't go away after he took over my first novel-length story.
I have never married. I'm just...not the girl next door.
