Larry Feign is an American writer and cartoonist based in Hong Kong, to the disappointment of his mother, who still thinks he should be a brain surgeon in Beverly Hills. Born in New York and raised in California, he has worked as a caricature artist in Honolulu, an animator in Hollywood, and a writer and cartoonist in London and Hong Kong. His serial comic strip, "Lily Wong" was called "the Doonesbury of Asia" by the Los Angeles Times, and was a bellwether of life and politics in the fin de siècle years before Hong Kong's handover to China. Since then, he has produced and directed animation for Disney Television, Cartoon Network, Aniboom and others.
He currently focuses mostly on his writing. He is the author of several original humor books on subjects as wide-ranging as animal sex, a pregnancy guide and Chinese vocabulary. He is currently working on his first non-humorous book, a biography of a Chinese historical figure who was apparently very gorgeous.
Larry lives and works in a yellow house on an island in the South China Sea, with his wife, two perfect children, three dogs and the occasional cobra. He enjoys fine coffee, cycling and foreign travel, preferably all at the same time. His mother still wishes he would go to medical school, any medical school.
