L. A. really has a lot to offer if you know where to look. I always think that the best way to see a city is with someone who lives there and loves it. Sure you can find things in guidebooks, but it’s the locals that know about Ciro’s killer tacos de papas and how to get tickets to the Getty Villa or a drag show at La Casita del Campo. A drive up Lake View off of Barham gives you a breathtaking view of the Hollywood sign, and the pastries at Portos and Paradise are worth killing for. For writers like me, L.A. provides a tour of Chandler’s noir, Thalberg’s Hollywood, and major film studios. This is only scratching the surface. See L.A. with an Angeleno and you’ll come back for more.
