Kunzang Drolma's Biography
Member Info
I am Australian, and have been living in the wilderness of Northern Arizona for eight years, the first several on my own. I was ordained as a Tibetan Buddhist nun by HH Penor Rinpoche of the Nyingma lineage in 2000.
Writing has been a passion for a long time. Mostly fiction: short stories, unpublished novel. Essays. Some publication in anthologies, minor awards. Varuna Writer's Fellowship (Australia). Since living at Dakini Valley in AZ, I have written a book, "Longing to Awaken" (seeking publisher), about the relationship of this place, my life and my spiritual path.
Ordination re-oriented my relationship with the world and my writing. I had been already exploring reconciliation, forgiveness, memory, impermanence: writing was part of the path that lead to Buddhism. But now my intention and prayer is that what I say and do will reflect and speak with that innate compassion and wisdom in every heart; that is what we share.
We also have a dog rescue here, to save the lives of dogs facing death in overcrowded shelters. So hopefully I live, as well as speak, active compassion. My home is shared with 6 dogs and 1 cat, who masquerades as a dog.
