Hey all,
My name's Kiran, and I'm a sophomore at NYU. I'm a short story writer, whose works focus on discrimination. Each collection is going to focus on a different country in the Far East and West, my first one reflecting on America (Jihad of the American Fool). I've been working on getting published, with a decent amount of success for someone my age (mostly personalized rejections from places like The Paris Review and One Story), but I'm still working on it. I've decided to post my work here, some pieces having been worked on for a while and are mostly being sent out for fun, with other pieces needing said work.
As for what I like, I love to talk (I'm kind of on the extrovert side), write and read (duh!), all social justice issues, and I'd love to learn how to belly dance! My favorite writer are plentiful, but the ones that are closest to my heart are... Crane, Dickens, Eliot, Gorky, Hemingway, Mishima, Flannery O'Connor, Oates, Singer, Tagore, Wright, Zola
Hope to meet you guys!
Kiran
