I am clearly on a NaNoWritMo high (if there is such a thing). Last night I signed up for both a month long blog challenge as well as a year long challenge for WrYe challenge for 2010. My word count being set at 1kk (My own doing). That means a lot of coffee, cigarettes, and water on my shopping list. I would say chocolate but I am on a diet to lose 20 pounds. I have already had a few false starts on that already and I am not wanting this next time to be undone due to the fact that I have some undying need reward myself with food. Besides I have mentally come up with a few better things for that in which food is not involved.
I think what has really started my engine have been a couple of books I have read recently. One I have read before and use as a writing Bible of sorts. That is "On Writing: A Memoir of The Craft" by my hero Stephen King and the other is a classic called "1984" Both have inspired me to push myself harder than I have before as well as look at my work with a more crictical eye.
I have put away my finished novel for the time being. Letting it age while I am working on other things. That way when I go back to it I have a fresh eye on the whole thing. I already have tucked away a few morsels that I had forgotten years ago.
Well I need to go and get a little rest before I start rambling nonsense that makes no sense what so ever to others (My eyes are already falling down against my will and my hands feel like lead. Signs for need of sleep). I am on a clearer path now and I will be posting what little bits of diamonds in the rough I might create. I hope everyone has a great day and I will return again soon...K.D. Storm
