Amulet

Evening, the sky imbued in scarlet,

Sun descending.

Mountain range, veiled in violet,

Moon rising.

Let Hamlet lie, Piglet play,

And the last Queen of France dance to the soundless minuet.

At the simple turn of a gimlet,

All dreams slip through the all-seeing eye.

Letters whirling,

Alighting gently on an amulet.

Lovely images here, Kim. Such a wistful, lyrical quality...

(Nice to find you here on Red Room --- I've been off writing for almost a year and it's a treat to be introduced to fresh faces.  Welcome.)
