Amulet
Evening, the sky imbued in scarlet,
Sun descending.
Mountain range, veiled in violet,
Moon rising.
Let Hamlet lie, Piglet play,
And the last Queen of France dance to the soundless minuet.
At the simple turn of a gimlet,
All dreams slip through the all-seeing eye.
Letters whirling,
Alighting gently on an amulet.
"You have to write the book that wants to be written. And if the book will be too difficult for grown-ups, then you write it for children." Madeleine L'Engle”
