Over the past few years, I have to say that what amazes me the most is that our former teen participants who are now graduating from college are expressing their desire to work at nonprofits, to serve their communities, to be mentors. Ten years ago, I started a writing/mentoring organization, and now there are women entering the workforce and entering communities all of the US, even the world, who want to help others.
I know the power of helping people express themselves, be creative, find their voices, and now to see that these young women want to put their skills and energy into work that directly helps others, well, that's the greatest achievement I could ever hope for.
We have an interview in YPulse today, and they captured this aspect very well. I'm going to take a walk in a forest today and reflect on that wonderful outcome from WriteGirl!
