Kenji Liu is a 1.5 generation Japanese-born Taiwanese American expatriate of New Jersey suburbia. Arising from his work as a student, activist, educator and cultural worker in San Francisco Bay Area Asian American communities, his writing explores the politics of identity, memory, history, mourning, culture, joy and everyday small occurrences.
