I had the coolest author event today and I just wanted to share it. I was asked to visit an assisted living facility and speak as an author and I must tell you that it was one of the coolest events in my life. I was apprehensive at first and thought I'd be speaking to a crowd of folks who wouldn't be all that interested and my greatest fear was they would not come at all or fall asleep. It was wonderful. The staff was great about getting people out of their rooms and to the event. I spoke for about 30 minutes, and yes there were snoozers, but I love them. They asked so many really good questions. The activity director and I were talking about it before I started and he was telling me how nice it was to have something different. He said that the typical speakers are talking about health issues and this was something totally different. I had a great turnout and I honestly was truly blessed by the experience.
AND I even sold some books! Thanks for having me Emeritus of Brandon. Your residents were very lovely.
