From the short story Reynardine:

A vampire hunter. That's what I have become. I carry around a stake I fashioned from the branch of an Ash tree. Last summer, the summer I and my twin sister, Roberta turned fourteen I was apprenticed to a Master Carpenter; Roberta to a dressmaker.

     "Robert," she said, "we shall be rich and famous someday. I for my dresses and you for your furniture." I laughed at her nonsense. How I wish she were here to tell me something equally nonsensical today. It is because of Roberta that I am here, waiting.
