I was lucky enough to attend The Big Bang Party at The Academy of Sciences last Thursday night. All the creatures were in their not-so-natural habitat (if I were a fashion blogger, I'd have a lot more to say on that front). Yes, it was a fund-raiser, yes I do my part to always support not just a museum of this kind, but a local joint. There was food, there was drink (local, local, local) and there was a band, not so local. Fitz & the Tantrums was the best part of the night. The show was outside on the lawn and the energy they exuded was enough to keep everyone toasty on a cool night. To top it off they were gracious to the audience and no one person was injured during the performance. There were no holograms (sorry coachella fans), but the venue was just the right size to satisfy hard-core fans and new fans alike. The only thing missing was a reading from a scientist who writes poetry. By the way, if you've never taken a Science & Poetry class you're missing out. Check out the band, check out the bang. Squeeze in a poem about dinosaurs.
