Book two of the Summers Saga is ready for submission.
Book one of a new series, novel entitled "And Then the Rain" is in the second draft stage.
So now I'm feeling pressure (all internal) to return to book three of the Summers Saga. Logically, it should be completed and published before this new series...although the possibilities of the new one are many and exciting. I started Jaden's story several months ago. I'm still having difficulty getting it off the ground.
I think part of it is that his story was always intended to be a "pre-quel". If I continue the way I began this book, it will take place chronologically before the other two books in the series. This presents a problem for me because now we already know what happens...but it hasn't been TOLD. I'm not even sure if that makes sense to anyone but me, but there it is.
Another issue is that I'm having difficulty with the crisis issue of the story. Since we know the ending (basically), there has to be some sort of untold plot line or else who would want to read it? And we can't really bring in FBI to this story, because it wouldn't make sense based on what has been said in the previous two books.
Here are my thoughts at the moment...subject to change without notice...Jaden works at a bank. So I'm thinking I need to research the IRS. Not sexy like the FBI, but at least a federal branch of the government. Besides, Jaden is our hero, so it'll be all right if the government agent is not the protagonist of the story, right? Only, I'm not so excited about researching the IRS. Maybe its just personal timing. Hopefully the muse will strike soon, and this story will shoot off like the others have.
I'll keep you informed!
