The journey is just as important as the destination. But once you arrive there you have to create a place that that the reader wants to be there with you by using the best descriptions possible; the scenery, the food and the people. In EAT, PRAY, LOVE, Elizabeth Gilbert does this. By reading her words I wanted to be there with her in Italy, India and Bali. i could see Rome, Tuscany, and Florence. I tasted the best pizza ever. I saw the Ashram and prayed with her. I experienced a life in Indonesia with her. Being is such beautiful places with the people she met helped her recover a bad marriage and relationship with her lover David and helped her grow. She fell in love again where she thought that wasn't possible. Gilbert explained the ways of the people where ever she was and you knew them as well as she did by the time she left each place.
