With a background in health science, psychology, research and communications, Karen M. Rider brings a keen mind and sensitive objectivity to every writing assignment. Her articles on success steps for writers are published in leading industry magazines, including The Writer, Book Marketing Magazine, Writer’s Digest, Poets & Writers and Writer’s Market. She has published numerous articles on holistic health and healing and interviews with visionary medical pioneers such as Joan Borysenko, Andrew Weil and Judith Orloff. Karen has written lifestyle and inspirational pieces on conscious parenting, anti-bullying initiatives, children’s food allergies, family recreation and the inspirational stories of ordinary people.
In works of fiction, Karen spins tales that weave myth, metaphysics and suspense with contemporary storytelling. “Rachel’s Garden” won honorable mention and was published in the anthology Things You Can Create (2013). ”The Parade,” appeared in Dream Network Journal in 2009; an extended version was written for Om Times magazine (Jan 2012). Karen is currently writing The Gathering, a novel of metaphysical suspense set at Gillette Castle in Connecticut. Another book project,”The Energy Healer Series,” includes three titles: The Entelechist, The Auracle and The Mystic.
Karen offers programs for writers at libraries, conferences, schools and for writing groups.
Karen shares life’s adventures with her husband and their two spirited daughters.
