'Fine' Works by 'Excellent' Sign Makers
Blog Post by June Casagrande - Jul.02.2009 - 5:55 pm
Sign makers get a lot of grief for their typos. So I try not to add to their woes. But a blog I came across recently is just too fun not to pass along.
It calls itself The "Blog" of "Unnecessary" Quotes and has pictures of some doozies like:
Please "No" Men Inside Ladies Room
(I love the "You know what I mean, nudge, nudge, wink, wink" quality of that one.) And:
Nonviolence is a way of life for courageous people. "Dr. Martin Luther King Junior"
(Kind of long for a nickname. I'd have just opted for "Marty.")
Anyway, enjoy!

Today at the grocery store I
Today at the grocery store I saw a big, professionally printed sign in a nearby storefront. It told me that another store was "Comming Soon." Susan
I understand ...
... that some people have bigger worries than how to spell "coming." I just don't understand why those are the people making the signs!
Whenever I see something
Whenever I see something like that, I wonder why the sign company doesn't have one person designated to check things. It's such bad publicity for their products. Susan
Makes you feel
that nothing is quite what it seems in the first place! Is this yet another manifestation of 'virtual reality'?!
So true
It's it's a good reminder to never eat "sushi."
Thanks for the chuckles
I'd heard of this site before, but I hadn't been in a while. My new favorite is the sign that simply promises "Donuts"-- Mmmmm ... "donuts."
I wonder what those 'donuts' really are
It's ironic: Insecurity is the root of these erroneous question marks. People fear extra emphasis is needed in order to help people really understand what they mean by "donuts." Yet their solution is what's laughable.
