Ever wonder what your dream kitchen or bathroom would look like, but you don’t know where to begin to tackle such a large project? Look no further - Albany Cabinets and Design can help with the details.
Albany Cabinets and Design’s Owner/Designer, Isabel Tsang, has been in the kitchen and bath remodeling business for many years. Prior to going into business for herself, Isabel worked for years with Home Depot and the Expo Design Center where she designed cabinet layouts, while also specializing in product sales. In addition to Isabel’s knowledge of cabinet lines and product vendors, she is familiar with all aspects of the design business including high-end appliances such as refrigerators, stoves and range tops, ovens, and the Cypress patented 3D cleaning system fan. Additionally, she can offer you expert advice about countertops including granite, quartz, acrylic or laminate options, flooring, plumbing fixtures, and installation procedures of all components. Isabel feels that being in business for herself allows her the flexibility to devote personalized attention to each client and more effectively bring your ideas to life. Isabel is a member of NKBA and Point Source Design, Inc.
Isabel recommends the following three steps to simplify the design process:
Step One: Visit Isabel’s Showroom and gather ideas. They can be ideas of your own from various publications, showrooms, or websites. Appliances are a critical first step because Isabel must know the size and type of appliances you have so the entire design can be built around the appliances. Isabel utilizes her extensive knowledge of design, layouts, product lines, and installation techniques to assist her clients through the planning and design process. Once you decide on a design, select your products – cabinets, surfaces, and flooring.
Step Two: Schedule a free in-home consultation with Isabel. The in-home consultation provides the opportunity for Isabel to offer insight and suggestions in the live environment so the best possible options can be considered for your new kitchen or bathroom.
Step Three: Place a deposit (credited to your order) for measurement and design of your new kitchen or bathroom. Schedule a follow-up appointment to review and finalize your plan.
Once a design is chosen and the consultation completed, Isabel prepares a virtual proposal for your review. Using the latest in design technology, Isabel can show you on her computer screen how each component of your kitchen or bathroom will look and fit prior to the beginning of construction and installation. During the virtual tour, you are free to make changes or explore different scenarios, all with a click of the mouse. The virtual tour is truly amazing and really brings your ideas to life!
Once your design has been finalized, Isabel will then review different options available to you to create your new kitchen or bathroom. From cabinets to countertops, to flooring and appliances, Albany Cabinets and Design offers a wide range of options to suit every budget. Cabinet options are available as follows:
In-stock cabinets: In-stock cabinets are readily available to you and if you select this option, remodeling can begin within two weeks or less. These cabinets are comprised of all plywood construction and no particle board is used.
Semi-Custom: Semi-custom cabinets typically require a six to eight week lead time.
Custom: Custom cabinets require the longest amount of lead time, usually eight weeks minimum. During a busy season, the lead time may be longer, but Isabel will ensure you get your product within a reasonable amount of time.
Cabinet vendors include KraftMaid Cabinetry, Pacific Crest, and Omega/Dynasty to name a few. While you are discussing cabinet options with Isabel, be sure to ask her about her recent visit to Pacific Crest’s manufacturing center in Kent, Washington, not far from Puget Sound. Isabel features several Pacific Crest samples in her showroom. Many accessories are available including glass door fronts, cutlery inserts, lazy susans, sink trays, pull-outs, and up-and-down racks to make reaching for those items on the high shelves easier for folks that are petite or wheelchair-bound. All accessories are designed with you, the customer, in mind. Isabel offers an array of options to make your cooking, dining, and entertaining experiences blissfully simple and enjoyable! Many cabinet surface choices are available including cherry, maple, natural maple, coffee beech, hickory, oak, birch, pine, bamboo, or combinations of these finishes, or laminates.
After choosing your cabinets, countertops are next. Kerrock offers countertop options and molded vanity sinks. Another popular name is DuPont Corian®, which comes in three finishes – matte, semi gloss, and high-gloss. There are over 100 colors to choose from and because Corian® is manufactured in sheets, it is customizable to your specifications. If you wish to use granite or quartz, you can choose from CaesarStone or DuPont Zodiaq®. CaesarStone is comprised of 93% quartz, one of natures’ strongest minerals, and is backed by a 10-year manufacturer warranty. It is stain, crack, scratch, chemical, and heat-resistant. DuPont Zodiaq® is available in over 25 natural colors. DuPont Corian® and Zodiaq® can even be combined to enhance your new kitchen or bath surfaces.
No kitchen or bathroom would be complete without flooring. Bamboo flooring is offered in addition to an array of laminates, all of which are easy to maintain and of the highest quality.
Isabel advises that budgeting is the key for the whole remodel. With that in mind, Isabel helps suggest different options and alternatives to keep the project within your budget guidelines and to offer you the best value for your money. Isabel’s goal with each client is to offer a large variety of products and services to improve her client’s lives and earn their trust. When your home is in order, you are happiest.
Clients have different goals for their remodeling projects that range from entertaining to selling their home – whatever the goal, Isabel is committed to exceed your expectations. “My biggest reward is to solve customers’ problems, see happy and satisfied customers, and have those clients refer their friends and families.” Stop by the Albany Cabinets and Design showroom, located at 920 San Pablo Avenue, Albany (Cross Street is Solano Avenue) and meet with Isabel.
