As secretary of Jane Stories Press Foundation, an international 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization that encourages diversity among women writers and the inclusion of many voices in the publishing industry, I connect with our members regularly providing a Monthly Newsletter and a list of current publishing opportunities. I'm also webmaster at www.janesstories.org.
My first job out of the gate was as a reporter for the Chicago Jewish Post and Opinion. I wrote features and profiles and conducted phone interviews. In the 70s, I edited monthly bulletin for Johanna Lodge, a Chicago arm of an national philanthropic organization called the United Order of True Sisters. Our lodge created and ran the Johanna Bureau for the Blind and Visually Handicapped for eighty years and supported Cancer Research, and a camp for handicapped Children.
Since then I've been concentrating on writing fiction. With a preference for reading Fantasy and Science Fiction, I write mostly Slipstream and Magical Realism. I don't like being pigeon-holed as a human or a writer, so occasionally, I write in the mainstream. However, most of what I write would fall into womens fiction, if I understand the term.
