He is the author of six books of poetry, opera libretto, six plays, four books of essays and nine novels! Ishmael is also the editor of numerous anthologies and magazines. Mr. Reed is a MacArthur fellow & California Commonwealth Club's Gold Medal Winner. He taught at UC Berkeley for 35 years and lives in Oakland, CA. Darrell Dunn is our co-host.
