The newscasters voice screamed; "Terrorists having Bombs Surgically Implanted"! Upon hearing that new more invasive airport scanners would soon be available to inspect every inch of our bodies; inner and outer, I went to my computer and started typing; "Reasons for new Security Scanners at Airports" and listed them below.
#1. All USA borders are wide open. If terrorist attacks were truly the purpose of the invasive body searches at airports, what about the millions people walking, riding buses and driving across the borders having absolutely no inspections of their persons or possessions? And all the private planes flying in and out of the country..are they inspected? Thus I realized safety is not the purpose of the increasing airline security.
#2. Evolution. Ah!! That's it!!! And Evolution is ruthless and doesn't care if we are willing participants are not. Ask the horses put out to pasture if they had a choice! Ask the checkers in stores if they can change the new auto check out counters now being installed or the postal workers whose jobs are now done by machines if they could stop what was happening.
Evolution simply continues with it's magnificent but often ruthless dance leading us to distant stars. The human body as we know it is becoming a 'dinosaur' and cyberspace is and will be our new homes. We will not be physically traveling but instead doing it via webcams and other ways not yet invented.
Isn't this evolution simply saying "find new modes of travel"? Besides cyberspace, our upcoming mode of travel will be spaceships and space elevators, taking us to other planets. Would change ever happen if we remained 'As Is' and comfortable?
As earth becomes like 'Living on the Wrong Side of the Tracks', we will all shortly embrace living on other planets. The evolutionary dance does its thing and some of us lead the dance, others follow gleefully and yet many hate change and refuse to see that we are now a galactic family and earth in the near future will be observed looking back.
Being raised by a scientist and inventors, I grew up looking at the stars through telescopes and realized how tiny earth is in comparison to the whole. At a very early age, I was exposed to experiments showing how man would breath in space before we ever ventured off the planet. I dreamed that I would be the first person on Mars!!
I understand that growing pains are very real and at times extremely painful but the journey ahead will lead us places so beautiful we will oneday embrace even the suffering because we will understand why it had to happen.
Fear is simply evolutions call to remind us travel lightly and enjoy the journey!
