Okay, I'm in full-blown prep mode!  I have firm word from my publisher, Open Books Press, that my novel YÜ will be available on Kindle starting July 1, and in print October 1.

I chose my author photos today, which was marvelous fun.  My photographer gets 90% of her business from students at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, so a couple of my contacts could have been covers for a CD of smokey jazz standards or melancholy lieder.  We talked about the importance of having a variety of emotional tones in one's portraits, reflecting their promotional purpose: It can be a picture of someone you'd want to talk to at a book club, someone you'd want to engage with at a workshop, someone formidable whose word you would trust.  Always, you want to look like someone with something interesting to say. 

The next steps are getting my web site together, and ordering promotional post cards.  I hope to chat with other Red Room users and authors soon!
