They all slowed to a walk as they neared the bush, but Sal’s barking never slowed a bit, “Come on Momma! Look at this! It, it, it is AMAZING! WOW! Oh my goodness. Look at, look at how big it is. H-how come we never saw this before? We come here all the time and we never saw anything like this.“ Salazar was jabbering a mile a minute as they walked around the corner of the bush and saw a big egg shaped thing sitting in a little cleared out spot.

The clearing was just big enough to walk around the big silver object. It sat on four short legs and was a bright silver that shown with the early morning light. It didn’t make a sound, but let out a slight hum that could be felt in your feet as you neared it.  It was oval in shape and about the size of a minivan. On one side there was a set of stairs that led up into the belly of the object.

As they walked around the side of it, they could see a little blue sign with red letters beside the stairs that led up into the dark interior.

Millie read the sign out loud so that everyone would know what it said, “Rose’s Incredible Instantaneous Interplanetary Adventure; COST: {1Cent} Courtesy: Instant Vacations, LTD..  Well, I guess that explains what It is. But, what is it doing here, and How did it get here?”

She looked down at Honey and the pups questioningly. The puppies wandered around the machine in awe and didn’t have too much to say. Burt and Jasmine were walking together and murmuring to themselves, but Honey sat spellbound. Her head cocked to one side, as pondered what Millie just read.She asked Millie in a quiet voice as everyone sat down and listened, “What is instan-taneous and inter-planetary? Like, right now, and out of this world? Like, another planet? Is this a big video 3D ride like at the carnival?” Her ears were perked up and she felt the hair on the back of her neck raise as the humming in the ground made her edgy. Not that it was unpleasant; it was just…sooo…….different.

“I am pretty sure that’s what it means. I guess it’s a machine that takes you instantly, to a different planet.” She said, shrugging. She put a hand on the edge of the doorway and looked inside the dark interior.

When her head broke the plane of the doorway, the interior suddenly lighted. An eerie blue light flowed out of the machine and onto grass around the clearing. Millie jumped back in surprise and they all took one step back away from the machine.

“Welcome!” came a soft voice from inside the machine. It was that of a woman with a sweet Irish lilt and sounded pleasantly like Millie’s mother. “Please come in and have a seat. Pay your penny and enjoy your interplanetary adventure. All services are rendered instantaneously and are satisfaction guaranteed. We have had over one trillion satisfied customers, throughout this galaxy, and not one complaint of a bad experience. So please enter, have a seat, pay your penny, and pick your choice of destinations.”

The blue light that emanated from the interior was alluring, and the puppies were getting excited as they all began at once asking to go on the adventure. “Momma,” Burt asked quickly, “I think this will be a great adventure! Let’s go in and see where it will take us.”

Blinky had a spasm in her right eye that seemed to be catching on in the left. Her face was contorted and she backed up a bit and hunched down on her back legs, stretching her front legs out toward the mysterious machine “Millie, what if this is a trick to get us inside and then they take us someplace horrible?” Her tiny voice quivered with fear, and she sounded like she was on the verge of tears.
