“Johnson,” the coach yelled at the University of Alabama star quarterback Billy Jack Johnson. “Wake up son. How you gonna learn all these new plays if you sleep through meetings?”
“Sorry Coach,” the junior signal caller apologized to the offensive coordinator, and sat up straight in his chair.
“Maybe you should leave all those pretty little coeds alone tonight and maybe try sleeping for a change,” the coach continued to berate the player as the other players in the room snickered.
“It wasn’t no girls Coach,” the player tried to defend himself. “I ain’t lying either. I was up all night studying.”
“Studying for what?” the coach asked, confused because the team was in summer training camp and school classes didn’t begin for two more weeks.
“A test Coach.”
“What kind of test?” the Coach asked, lifting the cap up off his head and scratching his salt-and-pepper gray hair.
“A urine test Coach. The trainer said yesterday we were all going to have to take one this afternoon.”
