I recently saw Steve Bergman's book about Johnny Ace and there was immediatly a flood of memories about my youth in Galveston. As a teenager I was very heavilly "into" southern blues. I attended a show at the old Manhatten Club up on the Boulevard in Galveston at 15. It was called the Bobby Blue Bland Review. It featured Bobbby Bland, Joe Hinton, Al "TNT" Bragg and others. I saw the Otis Redding Show at Lou-Ann's just across the line from Orange Tx. in Louisiana when I was 16. All during those years before I went Army I must have played my Johnny Ace album "The Clock" several thousand times, and Oh! I did love slow dancing to "Pledging My Love" and all of his music! I kept that album for more than twenty years. Still don't know where I lost it. Thank You Steve for the memories. May Johnny,Bobby, the Fat Man and Otis live forever! Jacamo Peterson
