Dr. Oz is an Oprah creation that was a long time coming and probably a direct result of the Texas Cattlemen’s Association’s attempt to sue her in 1996 for “disparaging” beef on her show. The focus of the show was Mad Cow Disease, which was caused by the criminally insane practice to use offal from beef and other animals in cattle feed as filler. The result was a brand-new, human-engineered fatal disease that mentally crippled the animals that ate it. This disease was shown scientifically to be able to migrate to humans, destroy their minds and ultimately kill them. At the outset it was a fatal disease and many entire beef herds were slaughtered and disposed of in England and Canada. People in England died. It happened in secret in other parts of the world including the US most likely. Oprah won the court case and beef took a twelve million dollar nose-dive on the stock market. This case was laced with criminal activity from top to bottom and included politicians in several countries.
The other thing that Oprah did was set an internationally acclaimed precedent. She stood up for her principles and showed the world she would not be pushed around by the establishment.
The Dr. Oz became a phenomenon because he, unlike nearly all of his colleagues in the US and other developed nations, actually tells people the truth about what ails them, how to heal themselves and why his methods work.
Normally in the US no doctor would get away with such a thing because there are laws protecting the food and drug industries that prevent doctors from telling the truth about their products in a public forum. Obesity is the most obvious public catastrophe that is a direct result of this self flagellating group of laws that has created the biggest single health disaster in human history - obesity. Similar laws exist in all other developed nations and in many undeveloped nations.
Essentially governments and legislation protect food and drug producers and their markets from the public finding out the truth about the damage their products do to consumers. What that means is that companies are being protected in order to injure and kill people with their products despite other, weaker laws that are supposed to protect consumers.
It works this way: if the producer makes a product and something goes wrong with it and it is defective, then you can sue the company. But if the product injures or kills you while you’re using it as intended and there’s nothing “wrong” with the product, then you have no recourse and can’t sue anyone and it can’t be removed from the market unless the manufacturer decides to discontinue it.
Processed foods, all dairy products and all junk food fall into this category. These foods are either the direct causes or the substrate for all degenerative diseases of dietary origin – especially cancer, diabetes, heart disease, strokes and a long, long list of others. At some point I’m going to create a generic floor plan of a grocery store and walk you through it so you can see exactly whose products cause which diseases.
Dr. Oz was the first doctor to be able to inform the public of these things without legal repercussions. The reason he can do it is because he is protected by Oprah from otherwise inevitable and ruinous lawsuits. Normally he’d lose his license in a matter of weeks due to pressure exerted by the food and drug industry.
But not all of Dr. Oz’s information is a threat to the establishment. One very important segment on his show was about how to control or eliminate back pain using gin and raisins. His concoction works. I’ve tried it myself. I use it myself every day now. The ingredients:Juniper berries are loaded with natural anti-inflammatories and painkillers:Gin is made with juniper berries. Juniper berries contain Terpinen, which is an anti-inflammatory.This is a list of pain relieving chemicals in Juniper berries: volatile oil, calcium, cadinene, carbohydrates, chromium, cobalt, copper, wlemene, essential oil (alpha-pinene, beta-pinene, myrcene, sabinene, thujone, limonene), fats, fiber, flavonoid glycosides, iron, limonene, magnesium, myrcene, phosphorus, pinene, alpha-pinene, beta-pinene, potassium, protein, resin, sesquiterpenes (caryophyllene, cadinene, elemene), tannins, terpene alcohols, 4-terpineol, thujone, tin, vitamin C, and wax. Juniper berries contain volatile oils, commonly known in the health food industry as essential oils, which emit a turpentine-like smell. The oils contain terpenes, flavonoid glycosides, tannins, sugar, tar, and resin. Terpinen-4-ol is known as a kidney stimulant that increases their filtration rate. The flavonoid amentoflavones are considered antivirals. The raisin side of the ledger looks like this:Raisins have anti-inflammatory chemicals too: ascorbic acid, cinnamic acid, coumarin, and myricetin. The pain relieving chemicals in raisins are: gentisic acid, kaempferol-glucosides, ferulic acid, and aspirin-like salicylic acid.On top of all this, the alcohol itself is a painkiller as any booze hound can tell you.Dr. Oz says that the raisins to use are golden raisins. So far, I’ve not been able to find golden raisins that are just raisins. Generally they’re soaked in saffra oil among other things before packaging. The saffra oil makes them and sultana raisins unsuitable for any sort of health restoration efforts. The best raisins I’ve found so far are Sunkist Raisins™. They are completely natural.Other things you need to know: it pays to start with the freshest raisins you can get. If you use older raisins their ability to absorb the gin will be substantially impaired. Fresh raisins will swell almost to the size the grape was before it was transformed into a raisin. Dr. Oz recommends nine raisins a day. He doesn’t say what he bases this quantity on but from my perspective, I’d have to say that your weight matters in terms of the benefits you’ll get from the dosage. It may also matter how inflamed your tissues are and how much pain you’re in.To give you an example: Yesterday we had a heavy snowfall but before I shoveled, I took my nine raisins. However, I’d already had nine raisins that morning. When I’ve shoveled before on a single dose of nine raisins, my back was still sore the next morning. This morning my back is perfect, no pain. Other than special occasions like that, since I’m of average weight, I stick to the nine raisins a day.Nine raisins soaked in gin are not nearly enough to cause mental or physical impairment due to the alcohol content unless you’re allergic to alcohol in a major way. There’s one more thing you need to know: While these gin soaked raisins are a joy to eat and savour, if you have gum problems, you need to clean your teeth and gums immediately after consumption. The sugar content and the alcohol combine to wreak havoc with gums if you already have gingivitis (gum disease). As with anything and as good as Dr. Oz is and as well intentioned as he is, he only has so much time on the program so while his tips are good, you need to be aware that the information is not always complete. You still need to do your own research or you could find yourself experiencing unexpected results.
