Since Adam Smith's time, most economists have treated the goods produced by nature as a given, and paid attention only to the results of human labor. Given that recent studies show that three-quarters of all economic value today is produced by nature rather than human activity, this is simply silly.  Maybe it's time that we recognize that nature is the primary economy.
